Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to be Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competition was at the junior national championships in 1969 placing 13th and she took the title in the year 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was the all-around junior champion. In 1975, she took home 4 gold and 1 silver in her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the first woman to do the reverse double salo of the parallel bar that was uneven in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in entertainment during her teenage years. As a young girl, she began performing as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. They featured dramatic skating on ice shows.
